Name of church: Church of the Open Door

City: Hampden, ME

Website: www.opendoorme.com

What's the worship music like?: Contemporary, some hymns but contemporized (don't think that's a real word). Guitars, keyboard, drums (you know, those round things with dead animal skins on top - they're straight from the pit of hell :) , etc.

What's the speaking like? : Messages go from topical to going through a Book of the Bible, start to finish. Very contextual. You get the meat of God's word, and application.

What's the childcare like?: Nursery for 0-3yrs, Jr. Church during the message is open for 4-7yr olds.

What's your favorite thing?: Very Biblically driven church, answers to God, not a denomination. We're very laid back and easy going.

What would you change?: I'd crank the music up a good notch or two, even though it's already contemporary.

Can I wear jeans? You betcha. We have three pastors, Senior Pastor, Outreach Pastor, and the Youth Pastor (that's me). Preaching from he pulpit, both the Outreach Pastor and I wear jeans. Our Senior Pastor wears slacks - no tie. The congregation ranges from suits to shorts and t-shirt, and most attire in between.
